Emla 111
This rootstock produces a tree about two-thirds the size of a standard tree. Vigorous scion varieties and better soils may grow to three-quarter size or larger. EMLA 111 is a good-producing rootstock, well anchored, and tolerant of drought conditions. It is widely adapted to most soil conditions. It is resistant to wooly apple aphids and is quite tolerant to the crown and root rots. It fairly winters hardy and produces moderate amounts of burr knots and root suckers.
M 7
A semi-dwarf tree is about 60 to 65% as big as a seedling. Trees are moderately precocious and may lean with some cultivars like Galas and Grany Smith and may require trunk support. Well adapted on most soils except heavy clay. Trees tend to produce many root suckers.
M9 T337
Dwarfing rootstock selection from M.9 virus-free certified clonal stock developed by the East Malling Research Station, Maidstone, Kent, England. M.9-337 is very precocious and tolerant to a wide range of soil and climatic conditions. Tree support is required.
MM 106
A rootstock, slightly larger than M.7, that produces freestanding, early-bearing trees. Trees on MM.106 are susceptible to collar rot when planted in wet/heavy soils and are not recommended for poorly drained sites. Delicious on MM.106 is susceptible to apple union necrosis.
Emla 9
A Virus resistant stain of M9, Dwarf, very precocious, highly productive rootstock having size 35-40% than a seedling. This is slightly more vigours than M9 and is resistant to collar rot (Phytophthora cactorum) and requires a support system and assured irrigation facility.
M793
A vigorous rootstock has a size of 90% of the seedling. A good choice for an old replantation site due to its tolerance to SARD (Specific Apple Replantation Disease) and Phytophthora. Suitable for medium-density orchards.
