We propagate high-quality apple plants on clonal rootstocks only. We don’t have even a single plant of apple, based on seedlings in our nursery because of many reasons. Due to high genetic variability in the seedling rootstock, affects the quality and quantity of fruits. Moreover, despite hard efforts, one cannot eliminate the virus from seedling-based rootstock plants. Clonal rootstocks have different vigor, precocity, and resistance to different insect pests, diseases, and abiotic factors.
